Stellarium on Android

Anyone using Stellariium on an Android tablet? Does it compare well with the PC version? What other software do readers here use on Tablets?

Telescopes back at Lidl

It's been quite a few years since I've seen Lidl selling their once famous Christmas telescopes, but I've noticed that they have one again this year - the Bresser 70/700 (looks to be this one- http://www.bresser.de/es/produkte/junior/product.html?act=pdis&actid=8845000&cHash=691aa9dd00f7525f6937cad7...

You cannot upload images directly into a post. You can put them in your Popastro Album, or put onto personal internet space, or a file sharing site. You can then enter a link between the command.

Arrrgh!! looks interesting but I won't be able to see it all and my life would not be worth living if I overrode my teenage daughter's 21:00 recording of the show 'Glee'. Will have to catch the repeat, or iPlayer.

At about 02:00UTC this (Sunday) morning the news report (Sky or BBC - can't recall which) mentioned that tonight is the spring equinox. They also commented that the moon will appear largest and brightest than it has for twenty years. Anyone know what that is all about?

Re: ebooks - kindle

How many of you have one, and is there much out there for it regarding our particular interests? I've been wanting to see if I'd like an ereader or not. While browsing around the Argos clearance store in Corby last weekend I spotted a 'Cool-er eReader' for £35. I bought it and after a week of use I...

I think that efforts should be "held back" until something exciting happens...eclipses,transits, comets etc. mike Couldn't agree more. All three of those usually bring several days of press interest, providing they are substantial - no paper will be interested in an event that needs a 12-inch refle...

Re: The tone of the forum

Recently there have been a few discussions that have, unfortunately, soured some people's view of the forum. Everyone is free to express themselves - positively and negatively Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Whether a comment is considered positive or negative is down to the personal viewpoin...

One Brian Cox is worth a hundred competent researchers if he enthuses people about science and encourages young people to take it up. I was in W H Smiths the other day and see that his two 'Wonders' books hold fourth and fifth spot on the bestsellers list - so he must be enthusing many people of al...

They're not disallowed. Discussing them ad nauseam is not really encouraged. The other thread was removed for different reasons.
Censorship? Removing an entire thread sounds a bit drastic.
