Hi Graham,

A good attempt of M51, I like the first one.

That thin galaxy is IC 4263

Hello Matt,

You've got the start of a very good image there. You've got 7 hours of data believe me you can stretch that a lot more. You'll reveal even more of the nebulae and colours.

Best wishes

Dave, A good sketch that. It so happens, I was eyeballing Jupiter at the same time from Doncaster, with a 106 mm refractor giving 68 x. It was a good crisp image the best I've seen through my modest telescope. I then moved onto Uranus which presented a nice blue green disc. It's very rare I do any v...

David and Brian,

Thank you. 20 minute subs on an EQ6 Pro mount, I'm really impressed with the mount.

B33 Horse Head nebula in Ha

For these past months I've been playing with a 3 nm Ha filter, and to say the least I've been sucked in imaging with the said filter. It doesn't see light pollution or the full moon. Here's an image I took the other night of the Horse Head which I think always looks magnificent in B & W http://d...

Graham,

I would just up them to 5 minutes, but get more and may be increase the number of Darks from 4 to 9.

I didn't mention in my last comment, but I do like the large diffraction spike, it adds something.

David,

As usual an interesting writeup and a smooth photograph.

I'm wondering if Halton Arp has changed his views on his past theories, do you know if that's so?

Graham,

Your guiding and focus looks spot on. A pleasing photograph. Can I suggest that you try for more subs?

Danilo, You see a cuttlefish as well, I'm glad it's not just me. I'd be interested in seeing your completed mosaic of the Cygnus Loop, please post it when done. I've started my imaging of it, only got one pane so far though and it'll be next year now before I can get any more, I think. Regards Dave

Danilo, That's a well produced image, plenty of texture in the nebula. I've imaged this myself recently, you call it the California nebula, to me it looks like a cuttlefish. Ah well, it takes all sorts :D You've got some very good images on your web site. Have you thought about doing a 2 pane mosaic...
