I very often just 'Look'. having moved from inside the M25 area to S. Wales I hoped for some better viewing but the climate here tends to prevent much 'Looking' never mind observing'. not a lot you can do about the weather, As a retired long distance driver I used to get some nice dark sky spots to ...

Just been reading a book about North Korea and a satellite pic of the area shows just black where N. Korea is.
Don't fancy moving there though just to see the milky way.
Oddly enough when I lived in Surrey inside the M25 I often saw the milky way.

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually have Antares and Alpha Herculis on my list and re red dwarfs I am aware that not all as red as pillar boxes :D
I don't expect to make my list exceed ten.

Hello all, I am trying to work up a powerpoint presentation for my local astronomy club and thought of Red Stars. I think maybe to avoid red dwarfs and concentrate on fairly easy to observe Giants and Supergiants eg Betelgeuse and mu cephei both of which are easy to locate. Any suggestions for some ...

Night vision planetarium suite

came across this planetarium suite the other day.
Has anyone used it and do you think it is worth downloading?
I normally use stellarium.
