I've done this lots of times too, but still haven't learned! I always get caught out by thinking I'll let the camera lenses cool and climatise whilst I just pop in and make a cuppa......................! Or I'll see a clear night, phone my mate and arange to go up! When I get there he's alre...

Stacking Images.

After playing around with Registax I finally decided to have a serious go at using it. Last hight I started it on an AVI file of the Moon with a total of 763 frames @ 704 X 576. It's still optimising them now 20 hours later! Should it normally take this long for this size image/AVI or is my computer...

It's an automated program usually from a search engine to find and index relevant links to searches.

Sometimes called a crawler too.

Thanks for bringing my attention to this way of avoiding neighborly light pollution Vega! I'll make more effort not to point a red-dot laser at the neighbors security light sensor in future even though it turns on whenever I pass through my door and lights up the chimneys across the road with a 500w...

If you click on "Who's Online" above the user names it tells you who's online and what they're looking at. Guests usually appear as "Guest" and Bots as "Bot" or "Crawler"

I know very little about the sun spots and the numbering system but I'm assuming the spots don't last forever and are sequentially named/numbered as they appear for the first time on the west side of the sun?

Is this anywhere near correct?

They're both still there in the link to the web page.

Makes it easier to see both images on one page to compare them!

I think there is a lot of information in the photo with the sky glow that's been lost in Iris! It may be worth spending a bit of time with this in Photoshop or similar adjusting the RGB levels. Is it possible to increase the resolution of the camera (or the published photos)? They are currently at 7...

Thanks to all who've posted these images of the recent Solar Prominence they really are amazing!

Not having the necessary equipment to view it for myself, this is the first place to see them and the images are posted so soon after they're taken!

I'm still expecting my neighbor to come out one night asking what I'm doing! Especially since his young polish girlfriend has recently moved in!

Fortunately I have a stack of astrophotographs as backup! I hope that's going to convince him anyway! 8)

I've found the 1 hour processing to produce quite low quality prints like you'd expect from a low res printer! Does anyone know how much I could expect to be charged for just processing the negatives with no prints? I may invest in a good negative scanner if it's cost effective as most of the photog...

I always expose the first couple of frames like a "normal" photograph first for that exact reason but it still didn't prevent them from cutting the negatives in half once! When I took the films in to be developed I stayed with the girl whilst she wrote on the processing envelopes "Dark frames, pleas...
