Many thanks for details of the Ghost o Jupiter, I have now found it on the net, plus some very nice pictures of it, but I must admit nothing like I was able to see last night, all I see was a very small blue star, the pictures on the Internet of this thing are out of this world, full of colours.

This is an odd sky view.

Tonight the 1st April at 22.50 I viewed a not very bright but clear star, I viewed it for some time simply because it was a blue colour. Anyway my Goto 114 told me I was looking at a thing called Ghost o Jupiter, I have not heard of any such thing, and I could not find ref to it on my AOL internet e...

I have had 2 Telescopes and none of those were ever used outside, and I think seeing as my scope is set up aiming towards the sky ready to use I use it more. I feel that having to pick it all up, drag it outside, set it up, and recover from all that hard work I would soon go off the idea of sky watc...

I had a bad night tonight on telescope from here, the Moon was so bright in the sky that had a rather misty sky lit up and the only thing apart from moon I see was Procyon. Jupiter goes down to the west early in evening here, Venus was there not as bright as it has been. So after looking at Procyon ...

Yes I hit your link, and I found it very rewarding, however I did not see any streaks from that bright light I see, it was just a very bright white ball, pure round, it was as bright as Venus.

Hello Brian, my scope is the Celestron 114lcm and I used a 9mm lens, I know a lot of Telescope people say we should not use telescopes pointed out of windows because of needing to be able to see all 4 sides of the sky, but by being up stairs I am well over the top of street lights, and garden lighti...

Orion Nebula

I once again had a very good night on the telescope from 8 pm till 11 pm 28 March and I had my first good look at Orion Nebula, it looked fantastic, when I searched in my Redshift data base however I could not find it listed in the program. However a good couple of hours viewing again, no clouds, bu...

Hello David, in reply to the things you ask, yes it was indeed much brighter than the stars tonight, I think it was as light as Venus if not lighter, and I think I would have had chance to count up to 2 by the time it crossed my scope view, the scope is a Celestron 114 lcm, the lens was my 9mm just ...

What would it be?

While I was sky watching tonight I viewed Alphard really clear, but at 21.56 UK summer time a big bright white ball shot be going towards the ground just in front of Alphard, keep in mind that in my telescope it went down, but I think seeing as things are upturned that ball thing could have gone up ...

Yes indeed tonight (Monday) I had a smashing 2 hours on my 114 telescope, the way the Moon, Venus, Jupiter were so close at around 7.45pm was really great, I did try to get pictures on my Laptop with the Celestron CCD camera, but no luck, it simply just shows white balls of flame as planets. But wit...
