An insight in to my brains thoughts....

"Do I set up shop tonight ?? hmm late night.... work tomorrow.... cloud risk.... waxing gibbous moon.... but.. but... Saturn... how many more opportunities .... all those winter open clusters... "

Now you see my dilema .. LOL

I dont believe it! Completly clear night after some cloud seemed to disapate, set up, polar aligned. Took a quick glance at saturn to make sure it was still there(!) went inside to get my other eyepieces, came back out...... CLOUD! I think the next door neighbours heard me swearing! Waited half an hour to make sure it was there for the night.... still nothing. Gutted.

Nice and clear in Surrey (not that you wanted to read that :D )
Tried out my new spotting scope, ETX90 ota on a video tripod. Fantastic, from seeing it was clear to looking at saturn in less than 5 minutes, it got better as it cooled down. Pity I then had to go out.

Gordon, I nearly fell for that one too!

Went outside & it was lovely & clear and I went back inside to make a brew and look on Redshift to pick a target or two.

Took the tripod outside and it was complete cloud! Hung around for a bit just incase and the cloud did start to break up a little about 1:30am but I had to give up! :(

Whoever programs the weather was playing a very cruel joke!
