Thank you for pointing out this. I followed this to the NASA TV Internet and followed the Eclipse there from 6pm till 8pm. It reminded me of the first attempt to broadcast a solar eclipse over "Eurovision" a cooperation of various European countries, back in the 1960s, with PM up a mountain (Yastrabak (spelling?) in Yugoslavia (?). Really exciting because the TV was broadcasting before school - back then daytime TV consisted of afternoon horseracing and "The Flowerpot men" etc. Part of the eclipse would have been visible then in the UK but...yes it was cloudy. There was no hope at all of seeing the tag end of this eclipse either, from Sussex as it was....Yes, cloudy. regards maf

Mike, I remember the mount Jastrebac broadcast - just a snowy figure of P Moore on a black screen ! I think there was a crude shot of the eclipse from some location. I also watched the NASA broadcast; more successful but somehow not as memorable. Bob
