Surprised to final find a clear sky this morning( it has been ages!), 26th December 2017, 0618-0635. JUPITER near Zubelelgenubi pair and MARS about one and half fovs of 15x50 Hawke monocular up to the right. Somewhat later, as I set out for the papershop, at 0717-0720, I found MERCURY far down to the left, bright in 15x50 Hawke monocular, just over the college roof when area viewed from the entrance to the Close. Dragged out the Acuter 65mm scope with 20mm ep on tripod for a better, confirmatory, view. rregards maf.
