Early morning spectacle 1/7/18 at 0307 BST, with the Gibbous Moon ( with terminator through Mare Crisium) and Mars glowing brilliantly about three degrees below. Used Nikon 60mm spotter, 8x36 binocular & used a camera too. Worth getting up for! Regards maf.

Watched the Moon rise with Mars 3 degrees below it in the SE last night. Took some images around 23.09 UT with Mars at 4 degrees altitude,
