Gibbous Moon & Jupiter

Post by mike a feist »

Lack of sunspots and a boring Sun generally ( Cliff bemoans), no binocular Comets for ages nor expected soon (perhaps just one at the end of the year...maybe), and visual observing rather in the doldrums with page after page of my Astronomical Diary completely blank.
However did catch a good spectacle of the Gibbous Moon (with Aristarchus on the terminator) within the same 12-36x50 spotter fov (+ in 8x36 Nikon binocular) yesterday evening and early this morning.
Would say that I am really looking forward to following the Partial Lunar Eclipse on Tuesday night but fear that Meteorology will again defeat Astronomy! regards maf.
