URANUS

Post by PaulB »

I was able to see Uranus yesterday evening.

The planet was very steady (Seeing Ant II) with only minor fluctuations from passing cloud.
I used my newly collimated Celestron C9.25 and an Altair Ultra Flat 18mm eyepiece giving a magnification of x130.

Uranus was a small, round, pale green 3.7 arcsec orb. I was very pleased to actually see this planet as, a planet, instead of a tiny dot amongst the stars of Aries.

I wasn't able to see any of the planets moons.

Soon after this observation, we had a rain shower, stopping me from seeing Neptune.

Equipment.
IOPTRON MT2 PRO
C9.25
18mm AA FF eyepiece
Location- Teggs Nose country park nr Macclesfield Cheshire.
