Early Morning Observations

Post by mike a feist »

After the torrential rain and high winds yesterday, early this morning (3/Nov/19) the clouds broke temporarily to reveal clear skies from time to time and the following observations were made using L/S 60mm spotting scope and 8x36 binocular.
0145-0155 UT: URANUS & MIRA viewed from the garden using the 8x36 binoculars and Mira was easily visible to the unaided eye.
0310-0320 UT: VESTA viewed using the spotting scope and seen to be neatly paired with fainter star in Taurus. Also R LEONIS was seen in the south east, brighter that the nearby faint star and with 18 & 19 LEONIS , of course at present, much brighter than R.
