One advantage of a smaller telescope is its wider field of view (51 x 38 minutes). This enabled me to photograph both the galaxy NGC 6946 and the nearby young open cluster NGC 6939. Of course, the cluster is in our own galaxy about 3800 light years away, while the galaxy is about 22 million light years away.
