That boring old Sun again

Post by Cliff »

Mid-afternoon I observed the Sun - first time for nearly a week. As usual recently the sky was quite cloudy but the cloud thinned occasionally & I got a few glimpses of the Sun through my 88mm refractor. Surprise - surprise, there was a Sunspot, only modest in size but quite obvious even in the mediocre conditions. I rushed into imaging mode and got a few video clips which when processed revealed a penumbra as well.
An image & cropped version now attached.
Best wishes from Cliff
