Mars, 2020 September 27, 2245 UT. New Farnley, Leeds UK. 90mm refractor x165, w15 yellow and w80A blue filters. Seeing Ant III. Contrast of dark markings exaggerated for clarity. Directions: as you look at the image, North is top, South bottom, Preceding left, Following right, Regards, Bob

I apologise for going back into these "old" posts but I feel I should add better information. Firstly, I use a 90 degree diagonal which puts North at the top and reverses left and right in the usual telescopic image. Mars Central Meridian at mid-observation was 295 degrees. So here is the Syrtis Major with the bright area of Hellas below. Mare Tyrrhenum leads off to the left of the Syrtis and Sinus Sabaeus (upper) and Mare Serpentis/Noachis (lower) are to the right.
