Hi,
Got my first view of a few winter constellations at around 03.30 BST this morning (Wed 3rd). Just using a pair of 10x50"s. Orion looked majestic high in the sky. Gemini, Taurus were good to see back. The sisters were almost overhed. Also saw a splendid ISS pass (04.49 BST), the pass took it straight thro the heart of Orion.
Don"t think I am a nutcase for viewing at these hours it"s just that I was having a sleepless night having just been made redundant, so I made the most of a clear spell.

My "allnighter" viewing sessions have now been greatly reduced and I will now have to really make the most of the rare clear skies has I have finally landed a job after fifteen months.
The Winter constellations look stunning tonight (10TH Dec 2009).
Seems I have gone full circle.
ATB.

Congrats on the new job Dave, hope it goes well.........
I'm sure you'll make the most of any time you have for star gazing.

Hi
Thanks for the kind words guys, really appreciated.
It's been a long (and often frustrating) haul but I suppose astronomy has taught me to be patient if nothing else

Well done Dave. I've just got myself a part time evening job which will reduce possibilities for observing, but I think you appreciate time under the stars all the more.
All the best

Hi Mark,
Thanks a lot, will certainly have to make the most of the viewing opportunities (been finishing at midnight this week so ideal for viewing, pity the weather has been so bad though).
