Noel Carboni's Astronomy Tools

Has anyone used Noel Carboni's Astronomy Tools?

They're a set of Photoshop actions which work on PC and Mac Photoshop all the way up to CS3. The actions allow you to carry out a lot of useful image manipulation, all of which you could potentially do manually, if you knew how to - however, these tools just make things simpler, easier and faster - ultimately increasing productivity over all. They essentially automate or a lot of the image processing one would normally do in Photoshop to astronomy photographs.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has used them and what your opinion was.

Yes - I use them all the time. They're great and well worth the £10.00 or however much they are.

Put simply - they are a really good tool for getting the most out of your astro images if you have not already devised your own methods. And even the, they are worth having for thos 'just in case' moments! Fantastic!

Noel is certainly the best image processor I know, search for some of his collaborations with Greg Parker to see for yourself.

At £10 they're one of the best value things you can get in astrophotography for improving your images in my opinion. I got them before I discovered the online forums, and were a great help to instantly improving my images - even now as I'm more experienced and have some of my own methods, they're still a great time saver.

Paul, there's a link to the webpage in Kaustav's original post.
