A dark mystery

Post by brian livesey »

Three years ago, astronomers thought they were getting closer to identifying dark matter when they noticed a galaxy in a cluster that had separated from the supposedly dark matter surrounding it.
The discovery made by Durham University astronomers, seemed to imply that the dark matter was interacting with other dark matter through forces other than gravity. New data from more recent observations, however, contradicts this, showing the location of otherwise invisible dark matter that did not separate from its galaxy after all.
Dr. Richard Massey, from Durham University's Centre for Extragalactic Astronomy, said: "The search for dark matter is frustrating, but that's science. Meanwhile, the hunt goes on."
The universe is supposed to have 27 per cent of dark matter, which is invisible, and about 5 per cent of "normal" matter that makes up the stars and planets, etc.

Dear Brian
I have to say what I think you say about a dark mystery suits me.
I'm still an old fashioned monde man myself sticking to a single UNIVERSE containing everything. If there is a god he probably lives in my universe somewhere. Arguably it suits me that there is a god because I suspect he didn't use mathematics to design and construct the universe.
Best wishes from Cliff

Brian
It just occurred to me that maybe some of the "ancients" got things right.
This Multiverse Universe is completely up the creek. BUT there are actually MULTI-gods.
Best wishes from Cliff - PS if there is only one God. I hope I haven't up-set HIM OR HER of course.

Better watch out Cliff, that you don't get struck down by one of Zeus's thunderbolts! Stay indoors for a while until he forgets about your monotheistic heresy.
