Science Fiction Wormholes don't exist......

Post by Brian »

From today's SkyandTelescope.com. Bad news for "Deepspace 9" and "Stargate" travellers :(

Faster than light "rapid" travel via wormholes won't work. In fact a wormhole journey would take longer than the same one in normal space:

 (doesn't seem quite appropriate :) ) (my "lol" that is - given the misery commuters have to put up with)

Dear Brian & Brian
The idea that worm holes might sometime be used to travel about the universe or multiverse has always seemed bonkers to me. AND is one of the reasons I think cosmology is going nonsensical. Before getting such sort of ideas someone needs to land on the Sun first. I don't think that will happen for a year or two yet. I got sun burnt just visiting Blackpool once or twice.
Best wishes from Cliff
