Petition to Number10

Post by GeorgeC »

Apologies if you all know about this, but there is an online petition at
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/LightingSavings/
It requests the Government to reduce spending on street lighting by 20% by January 2012. The emphasis is on saving money and energy so may get heeded.
10" homemade Newtonian, ASA DDM60 mount, QSI 683 camera, MPCC coma reducer, Carey Mask for focusing

Many thanks. I was not aware of it and have "signed".

However, I suspect the "standard response" (at least that is what every other No 10 Downing St Petition I have signed gets). In a few weeks/months you get an email from No 10 advisors saying why the government is not going to do anything despite the massive response, how they are going to totally ignore public opinion and plough on with whatever they were doing anyway.

But who knows - maybe this time (but I always think that).

Ian
