Fantastic. What a great initiative.

The answer to your question - why only in Iceland; I can reply with a couple of points, having been to Reykjavik about 10 years ago and stayed with Icelanders.

- they are extremely connected to their environment (even girls have first names like Magnea (magma))
- it's a tiny place so things get done very easily

And they don't have to turn the lights out to see the aurora. I saw splendid displays with the backdrop of the city not really getting in the way at all.
