Dear All,

The Comet Newspaper in Hertfordshire has run an article about the County Council running a trial to switch off lights in 3 villages after 12 Midnight :D
They have set up an online poll vote, currently it's not looking good for us. Come on put the Astronomers voice across

Go to the home page at http://www.thecomet.net/ and
scroll down. It's on the right-hand side. The first
"row" is News Headlines, the second is Sports and
E-edition, the 3rd is Win and Interactive, which has
the poll. Once you've voted (you can only do this
once from a given online location) you are shown the
current standing of the results, sadly now 39/61
against us.

Percentage in favour was improving but we were still in the minority.

Just added mine, 48.5% to 51.5% now!
I'm living in Herts (uni) now, so those 3 villages are quite close to where I am...
That means get voting people! As Dale said, it could start something.

I shall spread the word 8)

Probably not 'cricket' but perhaps those of us with one or more computer (e.g. work and home?) should vote twice?!?

I was beginning to feel a bit guilty about voting in a poll aimed at specific regions and especially the three small villages but it was short lived.
Is it a good idea to turn off street lights after midnight?
It's a general question in a poll open to anyone who sees it. Guilt over. :)
