Hello

I've just looked at the article on the Daily Mails website and the three comments currently being shown are mainly in support of the lights being turned out. One comment curently showing is from Robin Scagell.

So maybe the Mail is, for a change, giving a balanced view - or maybe these comments are only surfacing now because the article is (in newspaper terms) old, so they feel no one will be reading any more !!!

Up until the mid-sixties street lights WERE turned off at midnight, and switched on again at 7 am in winter.
I remember it happening, I was beginning my paper round at that hour.
