Crescent Moon and Saturn

Post by mike a feist »

Sunday, 11/11/18. 1700. Crescent Moon c/w Earthshine in southwest, after clearance of most of the clouds, and then I then noticed Saturn about half-a-degree or so below it. Took some photographs just using the camera and then used 8x40 apheric binocular and Acuter spotter from the window for a good instrumental view. Regards maf.

I also noticed Saturn close to the Moon last evening, just glanced in passing and the planet was obvious even in bright twilight. Took a couple of (shaky) images with the Lumix TZ18 which showed Saturn to be just about one Moon diameter from the lunar limb, as well as the earthshine.
