22-degree Solar Halo

Post by mike a feist »

Sunday, 27/10/19, 1455-1550 UT (now back to UT / GMT). Finally the rainclouds parted! By mid-afternoon the Sun was in the south west and amongst cirrus and rather fuzzy bits of cloud. A clear upper half + of a 22-degree halo was seen (and photographed), colourful at the top and with rather poor sundogs. Lasted for about an hour and faded as the sun disappeared in lower murk. Regards maf.

Sounds good! I've only ever seen one of those, here, and it lasted about fifteen minutes.
