Venus in the morning

Post by michael feist »

14/1/22: 0800-0815 GMT. Located VENUS from the east-facing upper window, unexpectedly while looking at contrails. Followed through the window, with optics resting the double glazing - fortunately both the 8x42 monocular and the Kronus 50mm spotter are rubberised. Rather an awkward angle though and finally lost due to being too far round. Sun rising but not visible from the window. Good view of the crescent. Regards mike f

Excellent observation, Mike. I need to put more effort into early morning starts.

Best wishes, Jeff.

17/1/22: Clear sky. Located neat crescent of VENUS this morning again, from bedroom window, using 6x21 Pentax mono. + Konuspot 50 (x15)...as previously. Regards mike f.

19/1/22: A temporary break in the cloud layer around dawn enabled a quick view of the Venusian Crescent from the bedroom window again, between 0730-0735 GMT using 6x21 + Konuspot-50 but soon lost to clouds. Regards mike f.

20/1/22: Bright Venusian Crescent seen again this very cold but clear morning, rising above the rooftops and through the leafless twigs of a tree. Using 6x21 mono. and Konuspot-50 on a tripod and through the bedroom window. Followed until 0750 GMT when too awkwardly placed to see. Regards mike f.
