New closeup images of Deimos (Hope spacecraft)

Post by Brian »

"A new look at Mars’ moon Deimos highlights its mysterious origin
The latest photos from the Hope spacecraft suggest Mars' two small moons might not be captured asteroids, as previously thought. But many questions still remain."

It's an odd looking thing isn't it Brian, quite smooth, like a dusty potato? I can kind of see why it might not be a typical (captured) asteroid. Phobos and Deimos are among the mysterious oddities of our solar system and they suggest that there is much we don't know about it's evolution. Best wishes, Bob
